Ideal qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree with relevance to Finance, Financial Planning, Investment Management preferable

Desktop Services:

  • Provide level 2 operational and technical support to users via telephone, using remote desktop tools or should the need arise by attendance to users at their place of work.
  • Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to service management principles
  • Perform proactive and reactive troubleshooting to effectively identify potential incidents or problems and attempt to eliminate them before they occur.
  • Perform all tasks associated with Desktop IMACs to SLA and additional responsibilities and coordination based on the scale required for activities associated with Project IMACs
  •  Resolve Incidents and Problems associated with End User Computer Equipment and Software, and provide break/fix support, advice and assistance to Users
  • Assist with access to WAN, LAN, print and file services, remote access, electronic mail
  •  Maintain a library of documentation that reflects the complexity and diversity of the environment and that enhances the software support process.
  • Monitor the use of licensed Software, including license metering and tracking where the application allows.
  • Regularly report service improvements implemented and recommend actions to further improve performance and service delivery.
  • Mentor staff to improve the capabilities and usefulness of the Service Desk Team

User Account Management:

  • Troubleshooting and/or recreating problem accounts

IT Procurement:

  • Coordinate effort with Third Party service and maintenance providers as necessary to keep equipment and software in good working order, following the authorised warranty and repair authorization process.
  • Procurement of IT assets and consumables
  • Maintenance of asset register
  • Stock control and deployment of assets
  • Disposal of assets and IT Consumables

IT Contracts Management:

  • Arranging for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in house
  • Optimisation of efficiency, effectiveness and economy of the service and relationship described by the contract
  • Balancing costs against risks and actively managing the customerprovider relationship
  •  Ensure continuous improvement in performance over the life of the contract by actively managing vendor deliverables
  • Ensure that the relationship between the vendors and PPS remain open and constructive, by aiming to resolve or ease tensions and identify problems early by maintaining open lines of communication and performing supplier benchmarking annually
  •  Efficient contact administration by ensuring formal governance of the contract and changes to the contract documentation as required by the business needs and resourcing constraints

IT Project Administration:

  •  Maintaining and integrating project plans
  • Tracking and reporting overall progress
  • Planning and scheduling resources for a group of projects
  • Monitoring resource utilization
  • Performing quality reviews
  • Establishing and Maintaining the project documentation library

Minimum Requirements…

Education

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • IT related Tertiary qualification or a businessrelated discipline which include specific studies in relation to Information Technology.
  • ITiL Certified

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role
  • High standard of Incident and Problem management
  • Hands on experience with Windows XP, 7, 8 , 10, Mac OS
  • Previous experience using helpdesk applications
