Major/Key Accountabilities :

1. Responsible for the development and management of a robust sales strategy to deliver significant new business

Developing new opportunities with customers (Assembly Plants, T1/T2 suppliers & aftermarket) by meeting with key influencing personnel and decision makers.

Build & Manage the sales funnel

Interacting with support people including Commercial and Supply Chain to set up the execution of new business

Develop & efficiently manage the sales pipeline and utilise sales management tools to refine sales strategies

Personally conduct management and cost justification meetings with the management of our key clients and prospects in the industry (using good presentation technique etc.).

Identify the need for CHEP’S involvement with Automotive Industry Logistics service Providers, transporters and consolidators to identify opportunities for collaboration and developing synergies to develop stronger customer value propositions

Understand South Africa industry trends and market developments, and how CHEP can leverage these developments to grow the South African Automotive business

2. Responsible for ensuring new business maximize their profitability potential

Responsible for the development of the Automotive business units pricing policy and support the implementation thereof.

Cross-functional co-operation with Ops, Procurement and Logistics departments to ensure optimization of CHEP’s value proposition to customers and maximize CHEP’s MOP and BVA opportunities.

3. Responsible for the establishment of management of a Service & program management team

Ensure that the standards and objectives set in the Automotive business units service plan are adhered to and achieved

Manage team to conduct Value Chain Analysis

Ensuring the voice of the customer is clearly heard within CHEP South Africa, able to influence and set the customer requirements with internal partners

Manage team to Establish the needs of each segment of the supply chain in terms of control systems and packaging

Development of customer solutions including the assembly of scope of service, costing of proposals, business model, pricing structure & business case

Developing customer proposals

Management of cross functional teams from various business functions to ensure new business wins are implemented successfully

Responsible for Measurable improvements in client satisfaction and loyalty to CHEP through appropriate surveys(NPS)

Regular, proactive and scheduled contact with client management in order to build and strengthen relationships

Responsible for the creation of customer contracts, service level agreements, internal & external KPI’s for new & existing customers

4. Responsible for the Development, execution & Management of Total Equipment Management Service (TEMS) as part of the PROTECT strategy

Planning and staffing the TEMS business processes necessary for success;

Ensuring that service levels for the businesses are agreed and implemented within specified area of responsibility

Constantly reviewing our service offering to ensure that we meet the requirements of our clients through the provision of a value added service

5. Responsible for the development , implementation and management of new business and marketing strategies and plans that enable CHEP to achieve new business growth through the provision of an Intercontinental Pooling Service

Develop & implement the International Pooling Business Strategy for the South African Automotive Business (in alignment with the Global Strategy)

Develop Sales & Marketing Tool Kits for International Pooling Service and Product Offering

Interact with local and global support business units such as Commercial, Customer Service Operations, Logistics and Procurement to set up the execution of new International Pooling business

6. Responsible for the development, execution & management of the Automotive Business unit Marketing & Communication Strategy

Liaison with CHEP Global Container Marketing structures

Responsible for the formulation of the Automotive business unit marketing plans

Draw up and co-ordinate action plans that will support the achievement of the objectives identified in the marketing plan

Development & execution of require internal marketing

Development & execution of required external marketing to correctly position the CHEP brand within the Automotive supply chain

Create & maintain the required Sales Tools to support customer facing staff within the Automotive business unit

Responsible for the management of the Automotive Marketing Budget

Establish a sound working relationship with the key decision makers in the industry and promote the interests of CHEP in industry forums such as NAAMSA, NAACAM, AIDC & AIEC

Development & execution of the company’s overall Communication Plans insofar as it encompasses the automotive industry

7. South African Leadership Team (SALT) responsibilities

Active participation within the SALT Team and execution of its objectives;
